Court Schedule is as follows:

•  every Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.

•  every 2^nd and 4^th Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

•  every 3rd Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

 Justice Court is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

There is a Village Justice elected for a four –year term and an appointed Acting Village Justice in the Village of Haverstraw.  They are assisted by a Court clerk Anissa Slade, an Associate court clerk Elizabeth Martinez, and one part-time clerk Toni Jones.  The Justice court has a general jurisdiction over criminal, civil, and vehicle and traffic within the Village.   

Civil jurisdiction is limited to matters of up to $3000.00 where the Plaintiff or Defendant lives, has a place of business or works in the Village of Haverstraw and the other party may be served in the County of Rockland.

There is a Small Claims part of the Court- with jurisdiction up to $3000.00.  However, jurisdiction is based upon the Defendant living, working, or maintaining a place of business in the Village of Haverstraw.

 The Village Justice is Ronald DeCaprio and the Acting Village Justice is Henry Gruffi.

 Henry Gruffi has served as Acting Village Justice since 1997.  He received his Doctor of Law degree from Fordham University and New York Law School.  He is also a Lieutenant USNR from World War II.
